Dynamic Drimnagh actively supports and encourages the community to influence matters affecting their community’s well-being. We have a strategic community plan that is cohesive and inclusive for the future development of Drimnagh. This plan respects our heritage while facing the future.
We are committed to enhancing and protecting Drimnagh’s public areas green spaces waterways heritage and advocating for a clean, sustainable and healthy environment for an increased quality of life
- To achieve our goals, we will collaborate with local environmental groups, Dublin City Council, Waterways Ireland, developers, and any relevant state bodies to ensure a coordinated and effective approach.
- Drimnagh is fortunate to have green spaces, including parks, greens, roundabouts, and private gardens. Additionally, the area is built along the canal, which offers significant potential as both a biodiversity hub and a valuable community amenity.
- The area is experiencing significant development, particularly with new apartments, which are providing much-needed housing. However, this growth also presents challenges. New developments should include landscaped areas to enhance the environment. Additionally, there are issues such as a lack of bins, leading to litter on roads and pathways, as well as an absence of recycling and bring centres, which need to be addressed to maintain a clean and sustainable community.
- As more residents walk and cycle to the city centre and other areas, the issue of smarter travel needs to be addressed. The current infrastructure, including cycle lanes and pathways, is either lacking or of poor quality, highlighting the need for significant improvements to support sustainable transportation.
- Access to a clean, safe, and healthy environment is essential for a community to thrive—providing a space to work, live, and play. A healthy environment is fundamental to improving quality of life and extending healthy life expectancy. As the saying goes, your environment often shapes your behavior.
